Well I have only been working for Pentura™ for one month and I have immediately been exposed to a new oe new levels of security I wasn’t aware of prior to moving here…

I have always fancied myself as someone who can have a good go at getting into a box/network/service/app and here at Pentura we have a team of guys dedicated to keeping hackers out and also have another team of these very people trying to get in (pen testers web application testers (aka hackers) etc…)

I have been placed on the Intrusion Detection / Prevention consultancy team, I’m very new to this side of the fence but I have some guys who believe in me and having seen what Sourcefire is capable off I’d love to know this tool inside out (See Snort for a free stripped down very basic version Snort is a core component of sourcefire (sourcefire own snort and give it up to the open source community for development perks and being nice )

This morning I atended a small training camp for sourcefire and shortly I’ll be sitting an exam for my SFCE (Sourcefire Certified Engineer ) cert and a little further down the line I’ll be going for my SFCE (Sourcefire Certified Expert)

I’m getting my CREST Soon … but I better get off for now as England are playing and I’m not watching !
